Michele Tartara obtained both his BS degree (September 2006) and MS degree (April 2009) in Computer Engineering at Politecnico di Milano.
His master thesis work “ARM code generation and optimization in a dynamic compiler” was set in the ambit of the OMP (Open Media Platform) project and focused on the production of the ARM backend for a dynamic compiler, ILDJIT.
He then worked on increasing the number of programming languages supported by ILDJIT (beside C#, the originally supported language). C language support is now almost complete: ILDJIT is able to execute a program that transcodes an H.264 video.
He is currently pursuing his PhD at "Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione" of Politecnico di Milano, working on algorithms and virtual machines to exploit parallel architectures.
